Predictably DipTchgMAWell,PhDMassey took exception to my commentary on his RFMF Glee Club website.
This is, of course, his right and I am quite content to take on the chin whatever he decides to dish out.
That said, it does feel like I have gone five rounds with the Kapiti Coast Grey Power League....
He's still going on about dark natives and all that stuff.
No, my one big problem with DipTchgMAWell,PhDMassey is the way in which he so willingly gives a platform to a collection of bitter and twisted anonymous postings.
I will generously presume that they are not DipTchgMAWell,PhDMassey in some form of neo-colonial drag.
Doubts linger.
He does, after all, let people get away with saying all kinds of outrageous things.
A message for DipTchgMAWell,PhDMassey.... you are measured by the friends you keep.
And the shadowy creeps you have on your website suggest you have some rather low company.
Its all the more surprising really as DipTchgMAWell,PhDMassey decided to lecture me on academic debate; play the ball and not the man as if the whole Fiji thing is some kind of game theory in a geo class somewhere.
Of all the websites dealing with Fiji, his website has the most off-side, unpleasant collection of racist contributors seen anywhere.
Why doesn't DipTchgMAWell,PhDMassey edit them out?
What's he doing? He's retired after all...! He lives on a pension, completely free of any military control.
All he has to do is spike the anonymous people.... Clean up your site man - its not a toilet.
As for DipTchgMAWell,PhDMassey view that some how I should deal with all this as some kind of Political Studies 101 paper, I think this rather sums him up. Fiji is a retirement hobby.
I prefer the words of that great philosopher Tana Umaga: "this is not a game of tiddy-winks."
This is about freedom and rights - not some undergraduate essay.

Can Fiji Afford to be a Welfare State at this time?
We now hear that the current initiative for food stamps is some sort of grand plan to "widen the welfare net".
A very noble idea. But also an expensive one as the Ministry of Education is quickly realizing.
Social welfare programmes need to be better thought out -- the initiatives being proposed todate are lazy, short-term in nature, unsustainable and only encouraging of the "hand out mentality".
Furthermore these hand-outs are ultimately being borne by the middle-class who are themselves unable to escape burgeoning financial burdens.
The bottom-line of course is that the country cannot afford to be shouldering such a burden when it is simultaneously struggling to stimulate a stagnant economy.
Yes there are many citizens in this country who struggle to make ends meet and live well below the poverty line and who are deserving of assistance, but playing Father Christmas is the wrong approach.
Citizens have every right to expect better ideas from policy-makers, and teaching our people to fish as opposed to handing out the fish to our people to eat are the policies they need to be investigating and implementing expeditiously.
Bainimarama's Brother-in-law heads review of Government shipping services
Francis Kean, the brother-in-law of the illegal and treasonous Bainimarama takes the opportunity to grace us with his verdict on the appalling state of play within the Government shipping services.
All we can say to that is "Save It Please".
Not only is it most shallow coming from a convicted and quickly released (and quickly re-employed!) killer, no one really has the time to listen to the irritating military regime cheering squad continuously lamenting the shortcomings of previous Governments.
They wanted to be in charge at any cost -- so get on with it already!
Citizens do not have to part with hard-earned taxes and put up with all the whinging.
Government Services deteriorates by poor leadership: Kean

Poor leadership and a lack of commitment led to the decline of Fiji's Government Shipping Services said Navy Commander Francis Kean.
Commander Kean was appointed last year to head a committee to review the Government Shipping Services.
The review found that poor leadership was in place, leading to poor work commitment and poor services being provided.
Another weakness was the way other ministries were using the Government Shipping Services.
Commander Kean says the ministries have been using Government Shipping Services anyhow and whenever they want, but they will now have to pay up front if they want to use the service.
Government has expressed its commitment to uplifting the services provided by the Government Shipping Services.
The "National Dialogue for Fiji's Future"
Still no sign of the much talked-up February (and it is now March) national dialogue forum.
The military regime is now labelling the meeting as a "National Dialogue for Fiji's Future".
According to Fiji TV's new report last night, the regime has now changed their participatory rules and will now welcome participation from individuals such as Laisenia Qarase, so long as the views they represent are individual views and not party views.
