The government is building a new Fiji which will be based on equality, says Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.
Speaking at the opening of the Bua nursing station in Vanua Levu, Bainimarama said they want a country in which all Fijians and their children grow up with the same opportunities.
Bainimarama said government’s intentions is to give all Fijians the things they need to empower them and that is to have better access to telecommunications, better access to affordable higher education, access to affordable housing, access to water and electricity, access to legal aid, access to better roads and to skills training for young people.
He said the most important task of the government is not just promise better services but to provide them and it is recognition of the hard work the government is putting into service delivery.
He also said their program is on track and they know where they are heading and it’s towards building a better Fiji for everyone.
The new nursing station caters for a total population of around 1300 and it serves the villages of Navunievu, Koroinasolo, Bua, Tiliva and Dalomo, 16 other settlements and four schools.
Its relocation costs $250,000 which includes the building itself, a new fully furnished nurse’s quarters, a generator and solar power system.
