Fiji's Acting Permanent Secretary for Justice and Registrar for political parties, Mere Vuniwaqa has resigned for personal reasons.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed this in a statement today.
Acting Chief Registrar Mohammed Saneem has been appointed to act in the position with immediate effect.
Sayed-Khaiyum said Vuniwaqa had performed her duties in an exemplary manner.
An announcement on an Acting Chief Registrar will be made next week.
