Fiji Live: 1769 more register for elections

Another 1,769 Fijians have registered for this year's general elections which is scheduled to take place by September end. 

This increases the number of voters to 545,057 from the 543,288 that was registered since December. 

Of this, 664 are of Fijians living in Australia that have registered when the Electronic Voter Registration team visited them in early February. 

The EVR Team has returned from NZ and Australia and is expected to travel to Dubai next for another registration of voters exercise. 

This is expected to happen next month though a date has not been set as yet. 

Following the Dubai registrations, EVR teams will then travel to London to register Fijians who would also like to have a say on who should lead Fiji in the next democratically elected government.
