I-Taukei’s around the country have been reminded by the Constitutional Commission to prepare their submissions on issues they’d like included in the new constitution.
Commission member Taufa Vakatale says people must think outside the box and contribute to the making of a good constitution.
Speaking at the opening of the Lomaiviti Provincial Meeting in Suva, she called on those present to deliberate on issues that will affect i-Taukei communities especially in areas where local institutions are concerned.
An example she highlighted was their views on the i-Taukei Land Trust Board and what changes should be done.
The invitation for proposals for the new constitution will be announced in two weeks.
