The Republic of Fiji Military Forces Band creates history next week when it joins other military in attending the 2013 World Military Show in Abu Dhabi.
The show will include exhibitions of military assorted vehicles, weapons and ammunition, missiles, defence weaponry, ground-to-air defence systems, helicopters and advanced and latest military products.
The band departs on Sunday to perform in the show.
RFMF Land Force Commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga said Fiji had been invited by Abu Dhabi, the hosts.
“This is the first time and the band is going to perform with some cultural items to showcase Fiji and the RFMF,” Colonel Tikoitoga said.
The band put on a display for the Commander of the RFMF and Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday.
The band will be led by bandmaster, Captain Meli Bulitiliva Lomavatu, while the contingent will be led by Chief of Staff Land Force Command, Lieutenant-Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho.
