THE resignation of Air Pacific chief executive officer David Pflieger will not hinder nor affect the $200million loan repayment by Air Pacific to the Fiji National Provident Fund.
FNPF chief executive officer Aisake Taito said the loan agreement was made with Air Pacific and not Mr Pflieger.
When asked on the resignation and the impact it will have on the loan repayment, Mr Taito said "it's news to me that the Air Pacific CEO has resigned".
"As for the loan, it was an agreement between the FNPF and the Air Pacific which is an entity and not Mr Pflieger. The loan is for the company and not him and Air Pacific has been servicing their loan on time and when it's due for payments.
"Other than that, we cannot disclose any further information about the loan because it is confidential."
Under Mr Plieger's reign as the airline CEO, the Air Pacific announced new additions to its fleet last year with the order of three new Airbus A330-200 aircraft, all valued at a catalogue price of USD$600 million ($F1.069billion).
Mr Pflieger earlier stated a funding of about $200m from FNPF and 85 per cent offshore investments for the new air fleet.
