Tourism Fiji looks for new CEO
Report by: Christopher Chand
Tourism Fiji is not in a hurry to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer.
Former Acting CEO Michael Meade resigned last week and returned to Australia citing family and personal reasons.
Meade was appointed last year and had been at the helm of Tourism Fiji for only nine months.
Permanent Secretary for Tourism Elizabeth Powell says they now need to find the right person for the top job.
“We need to find the right fit because of all the things that are happening we need that person to taking that leap forward – which is why we had an interim CEO because he was responsible for a lot of the leg work we needed to get much of the stuff off the ground”
The tourism body’s Fiji manager Thomas Valentine will take on interim administrative duties – until a new Chief Executive comes in.
