I am not contesting polls: Tikoitoga

Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Land Force Commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga says he has no interest in contesting the 2014 elections.

Speaking to FijiLive Tikoitoga said he will not be taking part in any politics after the country goes to elections in 2014.

“I am not interested in standing for elections,” he said.

Tikoitoga said members of the RFMF can take part in politics on their own however they will not have the support of the RFMF.

He said the military will be withdrawing its participation from politics after elections are held in September and will continue to focus on the country’s security.

RFMF is made up of more than 3000 soldiers around the country with about 6000 reservists.
