An economist says Fiji should expect a decrease in the number of Australians visiting in the next couple of years.
Fiji Broadcasting Corporation reports Australian economist Justin Smirk is visiting Fiji and says his country will be facing economic headwinds in the second half of this year, continuing into 2014.
Mr Smirk says this will constrain household incomes and lower the Australian dollar, and for Fiji, it will impact tourism inflows.
Four per cent of Australians travelling abroad choose Fiji, making up 52 per cent of Fiji’s tourist arrivals.
