THE government has officially issued a commercial lease to a multi-million dollar company planning to set up a bottled water business at Nadelei in Tavua.

After two years of drilling and testing, the Korean Resort Company Limited was granted a five-year development lease by the Ministry of Lands in Lautoka last Friday.

About 150 locals will be employed in the first phase that involves the construction of an $8million factory.

Lands and Mineral Resources permanent secretary Tevita Boseiwaqa said the company would be given five years to construct the building before being issued with a 99-year lease.
