ELECTRONIC voter registration for Fiji citizens living abroad will begin soon when the EVR phase closes on Saturday.
A Ministry of Information statement said voting registration had increased tremendously.
It said about 528,000 people had registered and more were expected in the coming days. Minister for Elections and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum commended the efforts of those visiting the voter registration booths.
"Fijians continue to respond eagerly to the opportunity to register, which clearly demonstrates how enthusiastic they are to take part in the elections next year," said Mr Sayed-Khaiyum.
He said 22,295 people had registered since the current phase began on June 3.
He added there were still more people yet to register and were encouraged to do so in the remaining four days.
