Update: 12:38PM TEARS flowed freely as families, friends and loved one bid farewell to the 182 military personnel leaving for peacekeeping duties to Golan Height tomorrow.
The slight drizzle in the Capital City failed to dampen their spirits as they watched their sons, fathers, uncles, mothers and sisters at a military parade at Albert Park in the last hour.
President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau reminded the troops to be committed and remain steadfast in their callings.
"Deployments to the Middle East are not new to the RFMF," he said.
"I have no doubt that you will carry out the mandate with distinction."
The Commander in Chief reminded the troops that they would be working in an area that would at the most volatile.
However, Ratu Epeli says, it is a situation with which you are not unfamiliar.
