ABOUT $60,000 has been invested by the Lautoka City Council to upgrade a damaged drain that causes flooding in the Sugar City.
A main drainage system located at the back of Churchill Park stadium was given a facelift by council workers after it was damaged during Tropical Cyclone Evan.
LCC special administrator Praveen Bala said the damaged drain caused a few problems for the council in the past.
"During heavy downpour, soil was sliding into the drain because the walls were damaged," Mr Bala said.
