THE body of a 52-year-old man was discovered by police under a mango tree beside Tabucola Rd in Labasa yesterday morning.
Spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed that the man was a canecutter from Nadagadoa in Bua.
"The deceased was last seen leaving their camp to go to the hospital as he was complaining of chest pain," Ms Naisoro said.
"The body is now in the hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem examination."
Some witnesses said the body was lying under the mango tree early in the morning.
Ms Naisoro also advised members of the public to take good care of their health "and always have the company of another person when you are feeling sick and visiting the hospital".
She said it was also important for people to take heed of health tips and prioritise their health.
