RFMF NEWS ARTICLES FOR JUNE 2013

Families and friends gathered at the Tavua High School to watch their loved ones show case their capabilities during the cadet passing out parade.
Commander Land Force Command, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga appreciated the cadets ability during the passing out parade. “Your parents and friends has witnessed that you have learned the importance of discipline and you must treasure all that you have learned which will be your guiding light to a successful future”, he said.
Tavua School Board member, Mr Manasa Nale stated that this was the third year for the school to undertake cadet training. “Tavua High School Teachers have confirmed to us that lessons learnt from cadet training have instilled discipline into the students and are behaving well in school”, he said.
He added that students who have gone through cadet training in previous years are now members of the RFMF and Fiji Police Force. Mr Nale expressed his utmost appreciation to Government of the day the RFMF for training and support for the cadet training and passing out parade.
Parade Commander, Kolinio Naturaga won the Baton of Honor.

LBSS CADETS PASS OUT

Close to three hundred students of Laucala Bay Secondary School (LBSS) brilliantly marched past the reviewing officer during their passing out parade on Tuesday, 11 June.
Parade Commander, Eroni Bativunilagi who won the Baton of Honor led his troops in cadet uniforms as they march past the Parade Reviewing Officer Lieutenant Colonel Jone Kalouniwai with their school color. Parents, relatives and friends applauded as the close to three hundred cadets managed to perform the coordinated movements brilliantly.
Parade reviewing officer, told the cadets that he was deeply honored when given the opportunity to review the parade. He stated that the cadets have accomplished a training which contributes to their personal development. “You have continued a commitment to a tradition which has brought many memorable, worthwhile and life changing experience for this proud school” he said.
The Commanding Officer of the Third Fiji Infantry Regiment congratulated the cadets for their efforts which have materialized on the passing out parade. He congratulated the Principal, Staff and Faculty for having the confidence in them and also congratulated the cadets for their effort. “I congratulate you the students on parade this morning for living up to your dreams and aspirations in fulfilling this milestone”, he said. He added with a Winston Churchill quote “Success is not measured by the number of Victories, but by the number of obstacles you overcome”.
The Parade Reviewing Officer told the cadets that in their brilliant performance on the parade ground in the presence of their parents and families, they have show cased their ability. “Today in the presence of your parents and families, you have shown your adherence to follow command, being precise with your attention to detail and your ability to work as a team”, he said. He added that they have achieved the very basis of discipline.
The Acting Principal stated that cadetship training is important for students of LBSS since they come various backgrounds which undermine their ability for their academic development. “I appreciate cadetship training since it is an important tool to bring about worthwhile lessons and life changing experience for the students to transform into successful academics in future”, she said.
The achievement of the LBSS cadets was the result of the tireless efforts of the training team from the Third Fiji Infantry Regiment.
