Commodore Bainimarama will speak on the vast potential technology has to benefit the lives of ordinary people in the developing world, citing innovations and reforms that have taken place in Fiji.
A Ministry of Information statement issued yesterday said Commodore Bainimarama would speak in Fiji's capacity as the 2013 chair of the Group of 77 and China.
The meeting, which is being convened by the International Organisation of South-South Cooperation, gathers international leaders and experts from across the globe, including the incoming president of the UN General Assembly, John Ashe, and the secretary general of International Telecommunication, Dr Hamadoun Toure, the statement said.
With the theme 'ICT, Innovation, Culture and Sustainable Urbanisation', the meeting will focus on how south-south cooperation can utilise and boost information communication technologies in the cause of sustainable development.
