Fiji’s newly declared tax free zone between Korovou and Tavua is generating interest from as far as the United States, India, China, New Zealand and Australia.
The Bainimarama government had declared the areas between the two districts a tax free zone for dairy farming and agriculture in the 2013 national budget to boost investment.
Investment Fiji CEO Ravuni Uluilakeba told FBCNews, the investment proposals have been gauged according to their value and the number people they intends to employ.
“There has been a lot of interest along those lines and before the end of the year there will establishment of business especially when you look at agriculture and dairy”.
Korovou is one of the major suppliers of fresh milk to Fiji Dairy Limited the sole milk processor in the country.
