Translation of the Fijian constitution into the iTaukei language has already started.
Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has also confirmed that the translation of the constitution in the Hindi language will be starting shortly.
Tenders had been called for the translation of the Fijian constitution into the two vernacular languages.
“The translation in iTaukei language has already commenced and the Hindi one will begin soon. The constitution would be in place very soon,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
Once the translation of the constitution is completed, it is expected to be promulgated by the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
