Bainimarama returns home

The Fijian Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama has left the country yesterday evening under the tight security in the presence of local police and Fiji military personnel.

Before boarding the plane Mr Bainimarama met with Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo and some of his key ministers at the VIP lounge.

He was given a general salute before inspecting a guard of honour.

A good number of people witnessed his departure late yesterday evening for Fiji.

He left on the new Fiji Airways aircraft.

Bainimarama arrived in the country last Saturday as the chief guest for the country’s 35th independence anniversary celebration on Monday.

His presence at the celebration had graced this year celebration with close to 20, 000 turning up to witness the event unfold at the Lawson Tama stadium.

Also accompanying the Fijian Prime Minister are the Fiji police and military.
The Fiji police are currently engaging with the local police on community outreach program in various parts of the city to do community awareness.
Apart from the awareness they also conducted musical entertainment.
